Basic and Advance NTS review.

This is the very first time I join BNTS as a camp helper. I want to thank Captain Ang and Captain Jonathan and of course God for giving me the opportunity. Being a helper also make you learn how to team up with helpers from other companies while preparing for the camp. Seeing the BNTS participants took me down memory lane. I was once in their shoes, persevering throughout the camp, trying hard to stay awake, surviving hundreds of star jumps. Both either basic or advance NTS teaches us courses that we can apply in our own company. NTS is a very good camp to train up leaders in Boys' Brigade. Great leaders are made, not born. Once again I am very thankful to be able to participate in BNTS as a helper. I wish to participate next year to learn even more things. We can never stop learning.

Corporal Derrick Chin said;

This is my third time join BNTS as a camp helper, every  year sure got new things to let me learn. This year got a lot of new face camp helpers from each company.  In BNTS history, just Corporal or above and after SPM member can join as camp helpers, this year is special that BNTS allow Lance Corporal to join.  This year, I meet a lot of NCOs that from different company, when work with them, I can learn a lot of things. Communication and working with them is updated me to higher level and learn their  experience.

Corporal Jacky Tan said;

Firstly, I want to thank God that gave me a chance to be a helper in BNTS. And God also gave us a nice whether during that 3 days. This time I learnt a lot of things as a helper. I also knew many friends through BNTS. Most of them are friendly and we all had a good teamwork at there. When I need any helps, they sure will give me a help. Look at those campers were so tired and suffer, sometimes I really wants to help them. But I couldn’t, because this was a training camp. Anyway, I really enjoyed myself very much in the camp and I’m looking forward for the next year :D

ANTS; the strict-est camp that I had ever been. For me myself with bad stamina, BNTS was tired enough to finish those starjumps and punishments but after ANTS, only I realised that BNTS was actually so easy. First day the registration not even started then we have to run 2 rounds of parade ground because that we didn’t discipline ourselves properly. That was okay until the passing-waterbottle time, we passed bottle got like 15 times + maybe? Even the BNTS-ers finished their opening ceremony and also their classes and yet we were still passing. And through that, I had learnt that we should have always set our target before doing something and of course with cooperation with your team members. The memorable part was the second day, the so-called-extra-activities-day, we got like 3000+ starjumps and also 3000+ rounds to run at the parade ground, and guess what. We, all the ANT-ers negotiated with Sir Loh from 3000+ starjumps to 400 starjumps and no more of running parade ground . That was the best part. Of course, include the classes, learnt a lot of things that as a leader and daily life we should apply it and also not forgetting those awesome friends and classmates that I’ve met! Last day not much of things happened, of course very happy but sad because it was about to end. Lastly Thank to our Father Lord, that guided the whole camp smoothly , gave us strength to finished it and too everyone safe! Praise the Lord! Well, the phrase that remind me of this camp is , belum cuba, belum tau. It started with one of us and Sir Loh keep on using that to us. Seriously belum cuba belum tau , so mesti cuba only tau =) To me, really really never give up until the end, then it will be sucessed.
* Never give up! Shine for 17th penang company!

在ANTS,我学到了'SMART A',这可帮助我设定目标.SMART A
就是PECIFIC,EASURABLE,CHIEVEBLE,ELEVANT,IMETABLED,GREED.

Corporal Bernice Tan;

Of course first I am going to thank the Lord our God for giving me a chance to join this trip. This trip to Langkawi is the very first trip that I went with my BB family where none of us had to 'work', just fun and laughter. It really touches my heart how 16 people who are NOT blood related can get along so well under one roof. Amazing? Indeed. During the trip, I get to know more about my family members. Who's the shopaholic, who's the one who will go straight to the food stall in a night market, who snores, who uses a Winnie the Pooh towel for shower. Despite all that we still had a splendid time together. I love my BB family where we all serve the same purposes and the same Father.

Corporal Jacky Tan ;

Firstly I wanna thank God because He gave us a memorable trip in this time. .During the trip, there is only one time raining. And lucky our room got air-cond, if not I can’t imagine how are eight peoples squeezing in a room. .Haha. . It is my first time vacation with friends without my family :) Secondly, I want to thank to my lovely officers because they had given me a surprise, that is promotion during trip. .I was promoted to Corporal :)  Aww, for me, it is really meaningful and very touching :P  I promised God that I’ll work harder in future. You guys gonna work harder together with me too. By the way, I enjoyed the trip so much and I’m looking forward to it in next year too =]
Lance Corporal Cheah Yixian;
Erm erm from the Langkawi trip, I can say, It was super superrrrr funnnnn! :D everything but not the food. I was like very long time didn’t sit plane and this time, I get to sit again . feeling really nice, especially with company people all and of course, with the surprise birthday celebration with Jayden and madam. Very memorable moments . And and, not only for play la, got learnt things one kay. I had finally knew the Mahsuri’s story with details, hah cause I only know the story in blur case during primary time. Besides, the process is much more important than playing over there. All the fun we had together, is like, so many people lived in one house and have to wait for each other for the bathrooms, have lunch dinner, shopping together, hanging and playing around and so on.  Super enjoyed for the trip , Thank God for providing us a blessed trip and guided us all along the way and, thanks to our 17th Penang Company :)  Lastly, not forgetting to thanks  David Sir and Jon Sir too for bringing us around the town and take care us.

Lance Corporal How Gen Shen;

At first, I want to thank 17th penang company for giving us this chance to Langkawi. I also wanted to thank Pastor Saw for being the driver like a tourist guide in Langkawi and took us to many wonderful places. And thank God for being with us all the time and kept us from the troubles and accidents, especially on the airplane. And God had also healed and be with Jayden when he was sick.
At this trip, we went to all places of Langkawi. Although the places of tourism was not very interested but we all had enjoy all the time and I’m so appreciate the time that we spent together. We ate, enjoy, laugh and slept together. We also went to many shopping mall to buy chocolates, cause the chocolates there are cheaper and tax free. And I bought many chocolates for my family and friends. And we went to some natural places such as beaches and waterfall and we experienced the wonderful nature that God has created. The beach were clean and the water from the hill tops are cold and fresh. By the way, we went to a special beach that have black colour sands. Its so amazing.
Again. I wanted to say thank you to 17th penang for giving this opportunity to all NCO’s and thank all Sirs and madam for accompany us. And lastly I wanted to give all the praise and honour to our father in the heaven.

Lance Corporal Goh He Mi;

Happy CNY '11
Wednesday, February 2 / 10:47 PM ?

Hello everyone!
So Chinese New year 2011 is tomorrow ay?
      Counting down to collect red packets with great anxiety and joy. Going to church the next morning wearing your new bought CNY clothes hoping this year's Chinese New Year would be better than the previous ones. Visiting your relatives, talking and laughing about old times. Looking through old photos when you and your cousins are still in diapers. That's when all the bonding happens.
      Every year, no matter how busy you are, there will still be a day where you have to return to your parent's house for a lovely reunion dinner together. Not everyone has a family or a home to return to during CNY. Appreciate yours before its too late :)

Money can buy you something but it can't buy you everything.

Last but not least, we the 17th Penang Company wishes all of you a very
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR 2011!

NCO Retreat Day 3
Saturday, January 1 / 8:13 PM ?

Bonjour all! It means Hello in French in case you do not understand. Haha so as promised, this is the update for our NCO Retreat Day3 which was held in Langkawi in early December '10. For Day 3, there aren't many photos compare to Day1 & 2 so this will be a very short update.

On the last day, we had to wake up super early because the church below us will have a mandarin service at 8.00am in the morning. So all of us got ready and packed our luggage and got into our car/van. We then went to the Duty-free complex again to buy more chocolates as souvenirs for our friends and family.

After that we proceed to another Duty-free complex near the Eagle Square. Some of us bought stuffs that they need, some bought food.

The view from the complex.

Then we went to the famous Pantai Cenang where there are alot of yatch for rent where you get to sail out to the sea for a spectacular view of Langkawi.

Then it was time for us to go to the airport. We reached the airport at about 11something and was told our flight was delayed to 2+pm. So all of us waited and waited. Some went and buy food (Our boys just can't resist foods. HAHA), some played the PSP that they brought for the trip, some slept, some went to Starbucks for free wi-fi service. And that's how we spend our time waiting and waiting for our flight.

Finally it was 2pm then we all walked to the boarding hall to wait for the call. Watched Mr Bean that was on the Television. We then heard our call. The air stewardess checked our boarding passes and we proceed to the plane. We practically had to walk to the plane, like those famous people who own private planes, where they have to walk to their plane. The wind was very strong and we had this I-am-a-famous-person-walking-to-my-own-private-plane moment and said Goodbye to Langkawi Island. Hahaha fun times.

Then we got on the plane, waiting for it to take off. While waiting, as usual the air stewardess would show us the safety precautions and how to use the safety jacket etc.

 The plane then took it's own sweet time slowly moving it's way to the taking off lane.

I don't know how many turns this plane made. It kept turning and turning and turning and then it finally speed up and whossh! We're flying in the air now!

So long, Farewell,I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye
Goodbye!

Then we reached Penang Island!

 Both islands differ in their own unique way :DD

Then we got off the plane and walked to the main gate. Some went home by their own and some by our church vans.

 On the way back to church!

It was a fun and enjoyable retreat all of us had. For most of our NCOs, this is probably their first Retreat. This trip sure got all of us closer to each other and get to know each other more. Want to know what our NCOs think about this retreat? Stay tuned for their reviews!
